EMINEM(Rapper)

The Rapper has sued New Zealand’s ruling National Party over the use of his song.

  1. Eminem said the song, used by the party in an ad, was an unlicensed version of his hit tune  lose yourself, the BBC reported. His lawyer told the wellington high court on Monday that the National Party infringed copyright by using the song, or a substantial reproduction of it.
  2. Advocate Gary Williams said it did not matter if the song’s lyrics were not used as there are three layers of copyright, covering lyrics , musical composition and the sound recording.
  3. The party has previously said it purchased the track through an Australia based supplier and does not believe it has infringed anyone’s copyright.
